Lubrication has an extremely important influence on the operation and life of rolling bearings. Grease is made from base oil, thickener and additives. The performance of different types and different grades of the same type of grease varies greatly and allows for different rotational limits, so care must be taken when selecting.
The performance of grease is mainly determined by the base oil. Generally low viscosity base oil is suitable for low temperature and high speed; high viscosity is suitable for high temperature and high load. The thickener is also related to the lubrication performance, the water resistance of the thickener determines the water resistance of the grease. In principle, the different brands of grease can not be mixed, and, even if the same thickener grease, but also due to the different additives to bring bad influence on each other.
Grease lubrication is the direct application of grease to the moving surfaces of rolling bearings. But in the bearing raceway and sliding work surface input grease, must follow the following five principles:
(1)The grease must run through the working surface of the rolling bearing and the internal clearance of the bearing, so that the grease can fully play the role of lubrication.
(2) in the bearing's working surface should retain a certain amount of grease, and continue for a certain period of time, but also to prevent the loss of too much grease.
(3)The flow direction of grease input and discharge should be consistent with the sealing requirements, which is conducive to the discharge of invasive dirt.
(4)Under the premise of ensuring good lubrication of rolling bearings, the amount of grease should be reduced as much as possible.
(5)Open the exit hole at the end of the grease flow, so that the new supplemental grease can squeeze out the old grease to ensure good lubrication. Special reminder, in to the cross-sectional rolling bearing with grease lubrication, must pay attention to the rolling bearing grease working temperature range, if not in the appropriate temperature range, then the effect will be counterproductive.
